In northeastern state a man stood,
A leader bold, with vision good.
William A. Sangma, his name renowned,
In the heart of the hills, his legacy crowned.
With lurking stride and noble grace,
He led his people in every place.
From Tura's hills to Shillong's breeze,
He championed tribal rights with ease.
Chief Minister he, with wisdom's light,
Guided Meghalaya through day and night.
In governance strong, he took his stand,
For progress and peace across the land.
Advocate of tribes, their voice he raised,
In halls of power, where justice blazed.
For tribal rights, he fought with might,
In every battle, for truth and right.
A leader true now lies in shroud,
His deeds echo throughout abode of cloud,
A ray of hope in a man so kind,
William A. Sangma, in memory enshrined,
Though he may rest in fields of green,
His spirit, his vision, forever keen.
In Meghalaya's heart, his name shall ring,
A tribute to him, we forever sing.
In William A. Sangma's honor, we say,
Thank you for lighting our path each day.
Your legacy lives, in the hearts that beat,
In the northeast's story, forever sweet.
