Amidst the peaks of Kargil, where the echoes of war resound,
Lies the tale of a hero, with courage truly profound.
Captain K.C. Nongrum, in the Army he did stand,
Brave, strong and resolute, defending the motherland.
In the hour of conflict, where valour meets the foe,
He bore the weight of duty, he had task to do.
In the summer of '99, when the mountains echoed strife,
He fought for his nation and sacrificed his life.
Through piercing bullets, and the thunder of fight,
He stood as a guardian, with all his might.
But in the heat of battle, where heroes are made,
He made the ultimate sacrifice, painted the soil red.
For his bravery in battle, and his valour on that hill,
Captain K.C. Nongrum, we honor you still.
In the chronicle of history, your name will shine bright,
A gallantry of courage, in the darkest of night.
Rest in peace, brave warrior, in your eternal bed,
The motherland will remember, the blood that you shed.
In the hearts of your comrades, and your countrymen too,
You'll live on forever, in the red, white, and blue.
