In Meghalaya's verdant embrace,
Where Khasi hills hold ancient grace,
Lies a tribe, proud and free,
In nature's embrace, they dance with glee.
Their language sings with ancient lore,
Echoes of ancestors, forevermore.
Matrilineal bonds, strong and true,
Guide their steps, in all they do.
Amidst mist-kissed valleys, they dwell,
Where living bridges weave their spell.
Roots reaching out, across the stream,
A testament to dreams, a timeless seam.
Nongkrem's dance, in November's light,
Honors the land, with all their might.
Nature's bounty, their hearts entwine,
In rhythm and rhyme, beneath the pine.
With rice and pork, they break the bread,
Hospitality, by their hands spread.
Jadoh's warmth, Dohneiiong's delight,
Flavors that linger, through the night.
Oh, Khasi tribe, in Meghalaya's hold,
Your story, a tapestry of gold.
In your land, where beauty thrives,
We find our souls, forever alive.
So let us dance, in the Khasi way,
Underneath the sun's golden ray.
For in their culture, we find our art,
A symphony of love, in every heart.
