In Meghalaya's Ri Bhoi, beside the road,
Lies the tale of Lapang, in the 'bhois' abode.
A leader, revered, in the land of his birth,
A ray of hope, for all souls on earth.
With wisdom deep and vision clear,
He led with courage, without fear.
Through valleys and forests, his voice did ring,
For the people's welfare, he took the wing.
From humble beginnings, he rose to might,
Guiding Meghalaya through darkest night.
In governance and service, his legacy shines,
A testament to strength in trying times.
With unity as his guiding star,
He bridged divides, near and far.
Ka jingshisha ka jaitbynriew the noble quest
In his leadership, Meghalaya found rest.
His age is now taking a toll,
He still serves with his attitude bold
D.D. Lapang the true man,
He worked for the people even in disdain.
